About Vertigo

Vestibular PT can help symptoms associated with vertigo or BPPV, menieres disease, labyrinthitis, migraines, post concussion related symptoms. Vestibular PT can diminish or completely resolve dizziness, help stabilize vision, decrease nausea, improve balance and overall strength, and decrease fall risk. A vestibular PT evaluation includes assessment of balance, perception, awareness, eye movements such as nystagmus, and positional changes. It may also include assessment of the cervical spine to rule out musculoskeletal impairments that may be causing your symptoms.

Symptoms that require immediate assessment by a physician and are not appropriate for vestibular PT include: new onset of double vision, unsteady or ataxic gait, loss of consciousness or fainting, difficulty speaking or swallowing, loss of bowel or bladder function, and abnormal numbness or tingling.
